🧡5 FRIDAY FAVS🧡
5 Friday Favorites
I am so excited that it is Friday! We are experiencing some cool weather today in Texas am I am so happy to be baking and creating some delicious soups and chilis. My son made chili last week and I cant wait to share the simple recipe. Look for it next week. Today I am sharing my 5 Friday Favorites w you...
This is completely sugar free but has a delicious cinnamon-y sweetness and is perfect w a protein packed pumpkin muffin. Recipe here. The tea is a bit spicy like a cinnamon gum would be but I love spicy! I have been enjoying a cup every night. I purchase mine for around $2 at HEB.

2. This cozy cardi. I am so in love with this beautiful Rust color for fall. I also bought it in dark green (kind of an army green which I also love).
3. This gorgeous Rose gold/ copper lipstick under $3 prime right now! Such a steal for a long wearing, rich lip color. It really does last! I wore it all day yesterday and was pleased with the results. So happy I tried this fall color and found it at such a steal!
4.Morning Time.

It will always be my absolute favorite time of the day. I so enjoy waking "while it is yet night" and preparing food and chores for the day. I enjoy my quiet time with the Lord, encouragement from friends uninterrupted, coffee, a light work-out and then morning time around the table w my kids. I love going over what God is teaching me, sharing Scriptures and writing them with my kids. It is such a privilege and a joy.

I made these for everyone one morning this week. Both loaves and all the muffins were gone in one day ha! |
5. This photo from my favorite place in Hawaii. It was on the North Shore and we had the beach to ourselves that evening. We spent the afternoon in Haleiwa and ate the most delicious shrimp at Giovani's Shrimp Truck and then had my favorite dessert on the island, a Nutella stuffed crepe with bananas and strawberries topped with ice cream. It took some effort to get to this beach but it was the most majestic beach we visited by far. Perhaps the fact that there no people had something to do with it. There were beautiful black rocks everywhere filled with sea life. We took so many beautiful photos. This was the first time I was able to look out at the ocean and realize exactly how vast and truly awesome God's Creation is. It was a beautiful moment and I am so grateful for the opportunity to experience such a magical place.

🧡Protein Packed Pumpkin Muffin Recipe🧡
🎃 I am so into fall baking and I of course love tasting the treats we bake!
Unfortunately, I TRULY feel a difference in my joints. I believe it's either the gluten or the sugar but either way I am working on creating some fall recipes that use less flour and less refined sugar.
Yesterday I threw together these pumpkin muffins made with protein powder. Now, here's the thing with these muffins, I hope you like the taste of your protein powder because there will be a faint taste of it when they first come out of the oven. As the day wears on and even the next day, I have noticed that I no can no longer detect the protein powder in the muffins. It seems to be when they are still warm from the oven. That being said I apparently still loved them because I proceeded to eat half the batch yesterday. 😂🙈🤷♀️🤷♀️
1 1/2 scoops of protein powder (about 4-5 Tbsp.)
1 Cup Shredded Coconut
1/2 cup almond milk
2 eggs
1 cup canned pumpkin or pumpkin puree
1/4 cup plus 2 Tbsp. maple syrup or honey
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. pumpkin spice ( I used finely ground mulling spices from my friend)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
dash of salt
Mix all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and spoon the mixture into MINI muffin liners. It's ok if you don't have a mini muffin tin, just put the liners in the regular muffin pan and they will spread our a little. I actually like that, it gives a crunchy edge which I enjoy. Now here's the tricky part, I baked my at 350 for 25 minutes but your protein powder may be different. Just check on them at the 20 minute mark and see if they are springy in the middle.
You could also use old fashioned oats for this recipe. I like that texture of the coconut and find that coconut satiates me tremendously. Coconut also has fewer carbs so this is a good low carb option.
There you have it! a quick, easy breakfast or fall treat! I hope you try it and love them. I have already had 4 this morning!🧡 🎃

Simple & Fun Family Night Ideas
We have been implementing a family night once a week for several months and it has been an incredible blessing to us. I want to share a few ideas with you.
Family dinner at the table!
Sometimes, after a hard day's work, my husband will prefer to eat dinner in his chair and relax. The kids will eat at the island and I am so bad, I will just eat while I am cleaning up. I really need to quit that. During family night we insist on eating at the table. I always choose something a little bit unusual and special for family night. Sometimes I will do Fondue Family Dinner. I will make a heaping pile of Nachos with an assortment of dips. Sometimes its Steamed crab and artichokes. I also love Appetizer night. We just do something that isn't on my weekly menu plan and the kids and my husband love it. It's a fun and special way to kick off family night.
Family Discussion & Devotion.
After we clean up dinner (I usually strive to clean the main portion of dishes up before we eat so all we have to do is clear the table and load plates into the dishwasher), we will gather in the living room and sit together as Nathan shares what he's prepared for us. I'll never forget our first official Family Night. Nathan shared what it means to take Personal Responsibility, look after your own self and personal surroundings. He always shares a Bible verse that coincides with what he is talking about.
Sometimes he will talk about things he is noticing around the house that need improvement and sometimes he will share an important life lesson. Whatever he shares, I am always inspired. The children are as well and I am delighted with their response.
We take whatever verse Nathan shares and write it on an index card the nest day during school so we can work on memorizing it.
Family Game Time
This is an absolute blast! We have so much fun playing all sorts of games as a family. It is a joy to watch the kids interact with each other and with Nathan. Hint: life lessons are also taught during this time ;)
Games the entire family can enjoy, Pictionary is our favorite!
We usually have a special dessert somewhere in the mix.
Popsicles, sliced watermelon, banana splits or ice cream cones on the porch. Now that it is fall we are baking! We love making snickerdoodles, pumpkin bread, peanut butter cookies w chocolate chips and serving dessert w hot chocolate or apple cider. Another fun family night idea is to roast marshmallows for s'mores by the campfire.
The ideas are endless and the memories are priceless. Your family will look forward to Family Night and never want to miss it! You will solidify life lessons and create a solid, lasting family bond.
Do you have a Family Night? I would love to read some of the fun ideas you can add to our list!
Thank you for reading!

Productive Morning Ideas
Hello everyone! So happy to be back from our amazing trip to Hawaii! I will be sharing photos, packing ideas and the best things to do in Hawaii over the next couple of weeks. Today I am so thankful to jump back into our daily routine. I want to share a few things that keep me on track as a wife, a mom and, most importantly, in my Spiritual life.
The first thing is my Daily Page. I have this saved as a PDF file on my computer. It took some digging but I found the old black and white form for you. Click the link below to be taken to my all time favorite way to plan my day...
http://www.donnapartow.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/dailypage.pdf
There is a new and updated color version but I find it to be a bit busy for my needs. I love simple things so this page is my preference.
This book is another huge blessing and has been a staple in my morning routine for years:
Busy Mom's Guide to Prayer
I have purchased this book and given it as a gift countless times. Every time I restart it I am blessed. There are guided prayers and there are spots for you to journal and write prayer requests. I cannot recommend it enough.
I feel so happy knowing I have a plan and a purpose when I am waking up in the morning. It gives me an optimistic outlook and a joyful perspective. I enjoy knowing there will be time for me to read, pray, write, and workout before anyone is awake. This gives me goals, direction, and peace.
Today I have already worked out, written my daily plan and started on blueberry muffins and turkey bacon for the kids. Now to get our weekly Scripture written and start our morning time together...
I hope you find these ideas helpful and that this sets the tone for a productive day.
Grace & peace,
Adoring Family
