5:30 AM Morning Worship + Easy Chicken Salad Recipe

You know I love to share the things we are doing that work well for us and I especially appreciate looking back on these types of posts to encourage me when I am in a slump (happens to the best of us).

I enjoy waking up and quietly playing worship music as I get my husband's lunch and coffee ready. It helps me set the tone for the day and fix my eyes on Jesus. The song below, Defender has been a tremendous blessing to me lately. I have been attending a small women's Bible study and this song was shared on Friday. I think my favorite part is the line that says, "When I thought I lost me, you knew where to find me. You re-introduced me to Your love."

As I made my husband's lunch this morning and listened to my worship music I knew I was right where God wanted me to be. Serving Him by serving my husband and truly worshipping the Lord in song, in my heart and in my service. I was reminded of the verse that talks about offering your bodies as a living sacrifice and how this IS our spiritual act of worship. I was thankful and happy to be serving the Lord, Christ. I was happy to be serving my husband.

I like to pack lunches in these bento boxes from Amazon. I make my chicken salad (recipe below) and usually put fruit, carrots or nuts in the other compartments. I'll send bread or crackers for the chicken salad. If I have some homemade breakfast tacos I throw a couple of those in there but if not I will give a breakfast bar and an Oikos 0% Greek yogurt for his snack or breakfast.

Now for the chicken salad recipe.
I adapted this from the Sams Chicken Salad that we LOVE. Since its so easy to make and budget friendly I usually throw it together myself.

Adoring Family Chicken Salad
Poppy seed Dressing
1 can of chicken
1/4 cup of pecan halves (our fav) or pumpkin seeds or sunflower seeds
2 Tbsp Craisans

I don't measure my dressing, I simply place all of my ingredients in a bowl and just add the dressing
until I reach the consistency I know my husband prefers in his chicken salad. You want it to be enough to hold you ingredients together but not enough to make your sandwich soggy. Mix thoroughly and there you have it! A tasty lunch staple.

Blessings to all of you and thank you for reading.
Grace & peace,
Adoring Family
